All assessments begin with an initial (up to 1 hour) Scoping video conference call with our most senior technologists, to determine your needs, agree the scope of the assessment and your key personnel required to support it. We can then confirm if the requested option is suitable.

Deep Scan
Deep Scan
Ideal for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

We will conduct a high-level review of key artefacts (to be agreed in the scoping session and initial workshops). Example artefacts include Code Analysis Reports, Workflow Management, and Infrastructure Costs.We will also conduct Individual follow-up interviews with your key personnel.

Forensic Analysis
Forensic Analysis
Ideal for larger enterprises / corporates or SMEs who are serious about long-term, sustainably fast software development.
In this assessment we do everything in the Deep Scan assessment but we go much deeper as well as confirm our root cause hypotheses. In essence, we will go above and beyond to ensure that our findings and recommendations are more than theory based on observations.

We'll provide you with a convenient Online Questionnaire Survey which helps us and the participants to identify areas to focus on, in preparation for the workshops. We will tailor this based on our scoping call.
We may suggest that we conduct a few exploratory interviews at this point.Interactive Workshops:
Next, we'll run three to six, three-hour workshops with your key personnel.Artefact Review & Interviews:
We will conduct a deeper review of key artefacts (to be agreed in scoping session and initial workshops). This includes a number of sessions with your Lead Engineers, together walking through the code of key subsystems.
This level also includes:
The identification of architectural bottlenecks which prevent teams moving quickly and independently of one another.
The capturing of detailed static analysis metrics and interpretation of the results.
We will also conduct Individual follow-up interviews with your key personnel.

We'll walk you through the report, providing further insights and answering your questions in a 1 to 2 hour, playback session.
We normally conduct workshops via video conference. Ideally both sessions for the free assessment are held on the same day.
Option for face to face workshop by special agreement / arrangement.
In it's simplest form, most companies only have two fundamental questions to answer with respect to their software and product development:
Are we building the right thing? - this question typically translates into "will customers buy" i.e. product market fit; "Can we built a defensible position?" i.e. a product moat; "Are we avoiding areas of heavy legislation and regulation?" and so on.
Are we building it the right way? - this question typically translates into "can we afford to build it?" and "can we afford to own it and maintain it afterwards?" i.e. being able to make changes to the product and supporting systems, with ease, over the longer term; "Can we extend it and enhance it without the costs and team sizes spiralling out of control whilst maintaining speed, quality, security, and performance, etc?" and other similar concerns.
Achieving the above two points well, in a long term sustainable manner, proves to be very challenging for companies as all teams are unique, with their own variable mix of skills, legacies and constraints, especially budgetary constraints.
Understanding the goals, constraints, capabilities of the people, processes and technology enables us to help the teams to maximise their effectiveness, and for your business to maximise it's success.
For smaller teams and startups, the operational dynamics and constraints are quite different to teams in medium and large corporations.
Knowing how you will get on interacting with a service as ours is really important. We know you want to try before you buy, and you should be able to - that is partly why we offer the "Free Assessment".
